Home Inspector Observers – What You Can Do?
There are many different types of observer jobs in the real estate industry. There are many reasons why a home inspector would want to hire an observer and not an actual home inspector. The best defence would be to do an observation before they do their actual inspection. The first time a home inspector sees a problem with a specific area, they can give you a general idea of what to look for and what areas you will need to focus on first.
Suppose you were doing your observation on your own and not a home inspector. In that case, you could go to any area that you feel could potentially have a problem. You could walk around your home and look at every single part of it. You would probably just check the walls and the floors and then ask yourself, “What is my main focus for this area?”
You may find the home inspector came to your house and gave you some ideas for checking on that particular area. If the inspector came to your house and you weren’t there to answer questions, you could just look at the inspector. You could just look at the floor and walls and ask yourself, “What is my main focus for this area?”
Now, this may not seem like it is imperative at all to know about different types of construction or remodelling projects that you could go over. This is true, but you should be able to learn something about the home inspector and the way he or she might approach each area. For instance, when a home inspector is walking through the kitchen, they may have a tendency to walk past a window that looks like it could be leaking.
If the leak is real, you should go over that area with a tape measure and a flashlight. Then, you should ask yourself, “Is this area large enough for a leak? I don’t want to go too large or else I will find the leak is so big I can’t see it anyway. If it is too small, it will be hard to get a good view.”
When you are doing your observation of a home, the first thing you should focus on is the area where the home inspector will be standing. The second thing you should focus on is the wall and flooring where the home inspector will be looking for problems. Now, if you have ever walked by the area where the home inspector will be looking, you may have noticed some sort of damage. Now, you should ask yourself, “Is this going to be a problem for me?”
